New drop-in design fuel filter for SWM Superdual 650 to mount below the original fuel filler flange. INNOVATIVE **HDM3D** MEDIA WITH WELDED FILTER EDGES FOR THE BEST DIRT/WATER SEPARATION WHILE REFUELING, A HUGE XL+ SURFACE. 

NB: big quantities of water and/or chemical contaminations, both deriving from “waste/cheat” or petrol additives, may result in slow water dropping through the media or even a full water passage due to physical and/or chemical interaction. Regardless of the water issue, the FILTER will maintain its primary function of blocking dangerous contaminants. 

To mount it, you don't even need to remove the "shield" shaped flange, follow the pictures, insert the media helping the corners with the head of the cable tie (in the package), align the filter cross to the bike axis, push the cap to the bottom of the hole, done. The new filter combines the extra fast **HDM3D** filtering media with the installing-friendly drop-in adapter, the filter has a huge filtering surface of almost 1200 square cm combining a very fast refueling with optimal EFI fuel pump and fuel filter protection and the latest and unique welded edges technology. This will protect the fuel pump, the original strainer works between 60 and 100 microns, and prolong the fuel filter life. In both cases, the filter is really small and can clog very fast, plus the fuel pump is exposed to all kinds of particles and water contamination, the neck prefilter will prevent all this saving the EFI system and preserving it for many tens of thousands of KM.

In order to mount your KTM 690 ENDURO/R SM fuel filter: simply remove the "shield" shaped flange:

Then insert the media helping the corners with the head of the cable tie, which is included in the package. Then align the filter with the bike axis, push the cap to be level with the tank surface, and simply mount back the "shield" and done.

The shape of the tank is not ideal to allow very fast refueling.

Why filtering?

This filter will help you prevent to keep changing fuel pump filters to prevent rough running or pump/EFI problems, like the one in the pictures above. While prefiltering during refueling, you can easily clean fuel pump filters instead of continuously changing them to keep the motor running smoothly. After mounting your bike will be protected from contaminated petrol, keeping the whole EFI system in top condition. The media is washable, and thanks to its huge surface, will last for many thousands of km. You can extract it, empty it, and wash it should the case arise.

WORD OF ADVICE:

Ah, service info, KTM has changed the "cap flange": under the cap in recent models, this flange presents the tank breather with a non-return valve integrated that allows you to close the one present on the cap for the first series, there no need to change the cap at all.

Our advice is to mount the new series with the new green Viton o-ring since the old flange will lose its shape over time and will start to warp and leak. The real danger is the water that comes in the gas tank as well as the gas that will leak out.
